FaultA physical condition that causes a device, component, or element to fail to perform in a required manner
FrequencyThe number of complete cycles of sinusoidal variations per unit time
Greenfield projectAn MSDG installation at a location without existing connection point
GridCEB's network that brings electricity from power stations to consumers
GPRS/VPNVirtual Private Network set up over a General Packet Radio Service
Harmonic distortionContinuous distortion of the normal sine wave; measured in Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)
HTHigh Tension (systems normally operating at a voltage exceeding 1000 volts A.C. or 1500 volt D.C.)

Registered Professional EngineerA person registered as a Professional Engineer under the Registered Professional Engineers Council Act (Mauritius)
InstallerA person skilled in MSDG installations with MQA-approved qualification acceptable to the CEB
IslandingA condition in which a portion of the CEB's network is energised by MSDGs while electrically separated from the rest of the system
Isolated GenerationA condition where the electrical path at the PCC is open and the MSDG continues to energise local loads
